Environmental Policy
Climate change is a very current and real issue that is affecting everybody. Resources must be sustainably used and adaptations must be made in order to protect the planet and ensure a greener future.
Newbridge Memo believes in operating in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way, whilst still providing quality experiences as well as positive opportunities and functional spaces. Newbridge Memo recognises the importance of embedded sustainability throughout the organisation within all of our practices.

Policy Statement
In adopting this environmental policy, The Newbridge Memo wishes to:
1. Ensure best practice for environmental issues and sustainability are followed.
2. Assess our current position and impact on the environment to understand what actions we can take to improve.
3. Ensure employees and voluntary staff are all educated and trained to understand how their day-to-day activities impact the environment.

Commitments
The actions in this policy ensure that Newbridge Memo is committed to:
1. Continually improve our environmental performance by monitoring progress against targets and objectives on a regular basis.
2. Reduce the venues and its activities impacts on the environment where possible.
3. Ensure water, energy and any other natural resources are being used responsibly and efficiently.
4. Recycle, reduce and reuse our resources where possible.
5. Implement this policy throughout guidelines and training.
Newbridge Memo is an exciting, high quality, reputable venue based in South Wales, proud to be serving the valleys with top class entertainment, events, talks and much more. We are a Grade II and Grade II* Listed Building, a building with historical importance to the local community and the wider Welsh heritage.
We are continuously working to lower our environmental impact and update areas we’d like to improve whilst maintaining current systems.
Past Implementations
Energy saving achieved by;
- good practice of staff/volunteers switching off lights in empty rooms
- Installation of PIR systems in toilet and corridor facilities
- Hand dryer instalment and removing hand towels.
Waste Management;
- Recycling schemes introduced

- PIR urinal sensors
Responsibility;
- Assigning responsibilities for environmental performance to a Facilities role
Future Plans
Energy saving needed by;
- LED switchover of entire building including all technical equipment
- Upgrade of plant and facilities to provide further energy proficiency including upgraded pipe lagging

- Further recycling increases needed
